Balcony Safety Nets, Children & Cat Safety Nets and Duct Area Nets in Mumbai & Pune

Quick answer: A balcony safety net is a strong, UV-treated nylon net fixed across an open balcony, staircase or duct area to stop children, pets and objects from falling. It can be taken down later, so it also suits rented flats.

What it is and why it matters

Safety nets are ideal for rented flats, temporary protection while a baby is small, open duct shafts in older societies, and staircase voids in duplexes and bungalows.

We also install cricket practice nets, terrace sports nets and construction safety nets for societies and builders.

Who needs a balcony safety net

Families with small children

Children climb furniture and railings faster than anyone expects. A strong net across the open part of the balcony removes that risk.

Cat and pet owners

Cats love balcony ledges. A fine cat safety net lets them enjoy fresh air with far less risk of a fall.

Rented flats

Safety nets can be taken down later, so they suit tenants and short-term needs.

Societies with open ducts and voids

Duct areas, shafts and staircase voids are a hidden fall risk. A net across them makes common areas safe.

Anyone worried about falling objects

Nets stop toys, pots and cushions from falling on people and cars below.

Balcony Safety Nets FAQs

Safety net or invisible grill: what is better for kids?

For an owned flat, we usually recommend invisible grills, as they are stronger, longer-lasting and neater. Safety nets are easy to remove, so they suit rented flats or short-term needs.

Can a safety net hold the weight of a child?

A properly anchored nylon safety net is designed to take well above a child's weight. We fix it to RCC with SS anchors, not to window frames, and we always recommend adult supervision near balconies.

Do you install cat safety nets?

Yes. We fit fine, strong cat safety nets across balconies and windows so cats can enjoy fresh air with much less risk of a fall.

Can a safety net be removed later?

Yes. Safety nets can be taken down later, leaving only small anchor holes that can be filled, so they suit rented flats and short-term needs.

Do you net duct areas and staircase voids?

Yes. We fit strong safety nets across duct areas, shafts and staircase voids for housing societies and individual buildings.

What is the balcony safety net price per sq ft?

It depends on the net type, the area, the height and the fixing. We first inspect your site, then propose and agree with you the materials and the type of quality you need, and quote the price accordingly.

Which net is safe for cats, and will they chew it?

A cat safety net has a fine mesh to keep cats from squeezing through. Most cats leave a tight net alone, but if your cat chews, tell us at the inspection and we will suggest a stronger mesh.

Can a cat net be fitted without drilling in a rented flat?

A strong, safe net usually needs a few small anchor points. In rented flats we keep fixings to a minimum, and the holes can be filled when you move out.

What is a duct area net, and does our building need one?

A duct area net is a strong net stretched across an open duct or shaft. It stops pigeons nesting in the duct and helps stop things, and people, falling in. Many societies fit one across every duct.

Is covering a balcony with a net allowed in Mumbai and Pune?

Fitting a safety net or an invisible grill is common, while enclosing a balcony with walls or glass is treated very differently under building rules. Rules can vary, and in July 2026 the Bombay High Court asked the State to frame clear rules on grills, so check your society's rules first. We give you a drawing and specification sheet for any NOC.

HDPE or nylon safety net: which is stronger?

For child and balcony safety nets we usually use strong, UV-treated nylon, while HDPE is common for pigeon nets. The right net depends on the opening, the height and who uses the balcony, so we suggest it at the inspection.

Do you fit monkey nets?

Monkeys are strong and can damage light nets. Where monkeys visit, we recommend invisible grills or a heavy-duty net with strong fixing, and we assess the risk at the free inspection.

Can you cat-proof windows too?

Yes. We fit fine cat safety nets across windows as well as balconies, fixed tight to the frame or wall. We suggest the right mesh at the inspection.

Can you fit a safety net for dogs?

Yes. For dogs we suggest a strong net or an invisible grill fixed close to the floor and pulled tight, so there is no gap at the bottom. Tell us the size of your dog at the inspection.

What our customers say

The open balcony always worried me. The safety net is strong and fixed properly, and now I feel relaxed when the family is out on the balcony.
